Play Spiderette online
Spiderette is Spider for one deck. The cards are dealt like Klondike, into seven columns, but you play by Spider rules: build down, sort the suits, and clear complete runs.
How to play
- The deal. Seven columns holding one to seven cards, with the top card of each face up. The other 24 cards wait in the stock.
- Building. Any card can go on a card one rank higher, whatever the suit.
- Moving runs. An ordered run in a single suit can move as one. Mixed runs have to be taken apart.
- Clearing. A full King to Ace run in one suit lifts off the table. Clear all four to win.
- The stock deals one card onto each column: three full deals, then a last deal of three. You can only deal when no column is empty.
- Empty columns take any card or run.
Tips
- Build in suit when you can. Same-suit runs move together and eventually clear. Mixed ones just get in the way.
- Work on the right-hand columns. They hide the most face-down cards.
- Hold off on the stock. Each deal covers every column, so make all your useful moves first.
Questions people ask
- How is Spiderette different from Spider?
- Spiderette uses one deck instead of two, deals into seven columns like Klondike instead of ten, and you clear four suits instead of eight.
- Is Spiderette harder than Spider?
- With all four suits and only one deck, many people find it harder than two-suit Spider. There are fewer cards, but also fewer chances to fix a mistake.
- How many deals do I get?
- Four. Three deal one card onto each of the seven columns, and the last one deals the final three cards.
- Can I deal with an empty column?
- No. As in Spider, every column needs at least one card before you can deal.
